Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

How come Val is the only one who doesn’t get it.

@Thirdguy
Maybe she doesn’t want to get it.

The thought of your mom doing the nasty will make most any guy(or gal?) try to wash away the picture with large amounts of 180 proof booze. I am 55 and this still holds true for me!

Dong the nasty . . . nasty . . . y’know, maybe that needs to changed, doing the nice, doing the love. Change the words, change the impact.

Eh, at that age, it’s just nasty.

You have a very valid point…TY

Arnold doesn’t seem that close to Evie so you’ve got to wonder if the physicality of this relationship is the main point.

2 year after my dad died, my sister and I star pushing Mom to have a romantic life again. No prying, just support and unconditional love. But we are both in relationship and secure. I suppose it does make a difference. What do you think?
John Pike said, 3 months ago
I’m 62. I’m not dead yet. I am very happy with my wife. She is my soulmate. The love of my life. If I were to pass, I would want her to be happy. I think she would want me to be also. That may or may not mean another relationship but I wouldn’t slam the door.

@bawana
Whatever it is is isn’t “nasty.” Illogical to think so.

@John Pike
Thank you John, for being a voice of reason. If you love your Mom or whoever, you want them to be happy, no matter what the mental image or what you need to wash it away with.
