Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

Many a time when I go to the drive up at my bank the employee is the person who ran our latest dog’s puppy school. Does she remember him? Yes. He sure is happy to see her. Does he remember her. Nah, he just knows he gets treats there!!!

No criticism but why all of a sudden are we concentrating on
‘Biscuit’? Up until a week ago I didn’t know our ‘intrepid heroines’ even had a dog.

So that’s why my bank only pays 0.1% on savings.

You only benefit if you have a dog. Those dog treats don’t grow on trees -like money.

Your bank only pays 0.1% on savings because you and others are stupid enough to bank with them. Put that money in a safe deposit box or a safe and you will see them pay more interest. They sure charge enough interest for auto loans and the like.
