Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

Where’s dinner indeed! Walking around with a hollow leg; what are you women thinking? Get movin’ before Biscuit drools all over the rug.

My Graciedog used to LOVE to go to the bank and the espresso drive through….she’d get so confused and upset when the ATM machine didn’t give her a doggie biscuit!!

We used to take our dogs through the DQ drive through – they always got a baby-sized cone!

I’ve seen bouncy happy excited little dogs like Biscuit. So much fun. Their excitement is infectious.

That’s like my dog. He has his meal and then wants a treat.

Even the dog is female here. Phil is never going to have a chance.

phil has wally, max, and andy to have male bonding with… maybe not in the same household, but just next door

Ha ha ha biscuits the size of her head! It’s true. I give my dog treats that are just a different brand of kibble from her regular food. Then when we are out and about the dog friendly people give her what must seem like giant treats. She doesn’t really care one way or the other just happy for the extra attention.
