Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

Alix, also forgot that she has an older sister who has been doing the same thing for more years than her.

Our parents always took the bag and doled out a few pieces after we got home. We always tried to eat as much as we could without being obvious before then!

My kids mostly like the “getting” of candy. They are totally fine with having a piece or two a day for a while, and then they forget about it. In fact, just a couple days ago I threw out a bag of candy from last year’s Halloween.

Save any extra candy and give it to the kids in the ‘Storm Zone’.

Just what they need, more sugar to lower their immune system. Oh yes it DOES.

Candy, or sugar and sweetners are a lot worse for the health than people know.

Our bodies can only take small amounts of sugar like our prehistoric ancestors did. Rare just as we eat too much meat.
