Afghanistan, Iraq, tens of thousands die, Nepal- thousands have died, but they’re “foreigners”.
In the U.S. even though 30,000 a year die from the violence of the gun, only a singular event will be picked up by the “news”, and made cause celebre, for weeks, or even months.
The tragedy is often not the events, but the response, or lack thereof.
Even small contributions (like mine) can mount up, if people just become aware, and care.
