That’s “government” pay, not federal. My federal pay for 32 years was consistently below “industry” at the same experience and responsibility level. ENTRY level folks, especially in law and engineering started off WAY above feds. That’s why the fed rules allowed “add-ons” to recruit engineers.

My brother, who always worked for “private” business, contracting to defense, always made many times “government” salaries and benefits, oddly, he cursed “government spending” that PAID HIS SALARY!

Fed benefits aren’t “bad” but they haven’t been that “good” for a long time either. But it remans, you take a lower salary for years to get those “benefits”— if you live long enough, and a lot of cops, firefighters, and soldiers- don’t.

No, government didn’t pay his salary, I did. You really don’t get it, government produces zero. All the money they spend is money taken from the productive sector of our society.

If government was cut in half society would be 200% better. If government was cut to one-quarter society would be 400% better off.

Study after study shows government “workers” get far overpaid compared to private.

My biggest complaint with my brother was that the weapons HE designed and his company sold, came way too close to me! The “government” DOES declare wars and the COMPANIES are there to reap the profits, taken from ALL taxpayers pockets, and the people ARE the government, so- GOVERNMENT does create jobs! That “productive” sector builds those aircraft, submarines, bombs, missiles, and armor–major failure in “libertarian” logic. Stop all wars, and maybe that “productive” sector might produce something worthwhile, if we could bring factory jobs back from China, Viet Nam, Canada, and Mexico.

Scape goats that make our life a lot better than being tossed to the tender mercies of the folks who want to hire only illegals and undocumented people…then facilitate their taxless pay…the drain on social security, their use of public schools and medical care…the job benefits that the property tax payers have to absorb.

dtroutma; You have outsourced jobs to Canada?

Le amphibian– Chevys and Dodges are built in Canada. But we’re getting tons (okay-barrels) of oil from up north. Too bad so much is from tar sands.

The private sector thinks gubbermint jobs should pay less. This way they can continue to justify their miserable pay rates they give to their workers.
