Here’s something to consider:
[]
The weapons Adam Lanza used in that attack were registered to his mother.
[]
His mother was a teacher at the Sandy Hook School.
[]
Now what was that again about how arming teachers is a GOOD idea?

I wonder how many people are going to return to stores where they bought toy guns and trade them in for something else.
just curious.

Probably none. My 2 year old nephew made a play gun out of legos. Should we lock him up for life?

No you idiot. 2 year olds are mimics. They copy adults and olders, that’s how at 2 years old they learn, by mimicry. So if your nephew made a gun from Legos (should be capitalized by the way, it is a trademarked proper name) then someone he looks up to glorifies guns. His daddy? His nut-job uncle?

Nice thought C, but I suspect most of those who would didn’t buy toy guns to start with. Those who don’t care and militially cling to their “right” to ow any gun they want simply because they want with no regard for safety, intelligence or responsibility are more likely the ones who bought the guns to start with. Unless you are also including the likes of Nerf Blasters and such. And then that is a scary concept but they are in effect guns.

Nancy Lanza never taught at Sandy Hook Elementary. She apparently had issues with the school board and home schooled her son who was apparently mentally troubled.
Unfortunately, facts were another casualty of this incident.

Folks, I’m NOT getting into “Pro Gun” vs. “Anti Gun” today.
Please just try to remember, whatever your politics and feelings, that there are twenty families that have to bury their children on the week before Christmas!
Have a LITTLE compassion for them, please.

Ah, the NRA compassion/evasion tactic!!!
masterskrain said, 5 months ago
@thegreatack
Huh?
I have NO idea where that came from…
I’m NOT in the N.R.A., and I don’t even own a gun. Obviously, you TOTALLY missed the point!

He did. But those of us who have read your past postings didn’t. Good commentmasterkrain.

The NRA’s standard response to a tragedy involving guns is to say, “Now is not the time to discuss gun laws (or anything to do with gun ownership/registration/etc.)”. I think that’s why your comment was misinterpreted.

@Respectful Troll
Ditto….
But also don’t dismiss thegreatack’s comment just because it’s misplaced. IT is not lost on me that the NRA is remaining largely silent at this time, waiting for this to blow over, as usual.
But back to the point, I agree completely with masterskrain, keep the families in your hearts and prayers, This is a tragedy and emotional devastation that no one should go through.

“…there are twenty families that have to bury their children on the week before Christmas!

It doesn’t matter what time of year, this would be a huge tragedy and something no family should ever have to live through, but the time of year does make it seem worse. Thank you for your sound, compassionate and coherent post.
