    As a former homeschool teacher who taught my own children to write in cursive, I agree with the snake on the right!

    Cursive writing has a lot of benefits. When learning cursive writing, the brain develops functional specialization that integrates sensation, movement control, and thinking. Also, multiple areas of the brain become active, areas that are not activated during printing or keyboarding. It makes me wonder if the “anti-cursive” supporters want to intentionally dumb down our children, for whatever purposes.

    Well said. The crap I get from young kin (if they bother to even send snail-mail) is atrocious at best. It’s more than just cursive writing that’s going by the wayside. Another 60 years of ‘progress’ and they’ll all be communicating with grunts and middle-finger language.. grrrrrrr.
