About a month ago, GoComics had a drawing of five signed prints to celebrate getting 80,000 FB likes, including 2 prints from Nancy, and one each from Tank McNamara, Close to Home and something that’s not any of the others. Guess which one I picked.

This brings up something I’ve been wondering about.. Why is it that most strips use all caps, and it reads “normal” to us, then a strip like Skinhorse, that doesn’t, uses caps in one panel and it seems like everyone is suddenly yelling..

A slightly larger image of the original skin-horse wallpaper can be seen at skin-horse extras, along with other really nice pictures. (Or you can try to find my blog…)

Because its not a matter of using all caps, or not using caps. Its a matter of us seeing a change (in this case changes in both font type and capitalization) that indicates something is different.

The question is, is GODOT controlling their speech (which he hasn’t been shown to be capable of) or is he breaking the 4th wall and controlling the text in the cartoon “speech bubbles” for the benefit of us readers. Hmmm…I think I like the second possibility the best.

I would say yes, GODOT is controlling their very minds. Damn thing has died and gotten more powerful than they can possibly imagine.

Given that their expressions in panel 3 don’t seem to match “their” words, I’d say it’s definitely us readers that GODOT is TELLING THE TRUTH TO IN A COMPLETELY NON-THREATENING WAY
