   The fat cells are needed to suck sugar out of your blood to prevent it from poisoning you. (Insulin tells the fat cells when and how much to suck.) Liposuction leaves you short on fat cells, and to keep you alive, they regrow elsewhere – usually in an even more unsightly place.

   For fat cells to shrink, there needs to be less sugar in the blood, either from eating less (especially sugars, which “spike” blood sugar invoking fat cells, then leaving blood sugar low) or from using muscle cells to burn the blood sugar. Or both.
