Birds of a feather flock together. What’s so strange about, “Her lawyer….”?

Tasteless is in the eye of the beholder. There are many other strips that are more to your obvious leaning - Out of the Gene Pool, The Boondocks, (and on another site), Get Fuzzy. Shoe is an equal opportunity nose-tweaker. You just notice when it pokes fun of your idols.

whmill, you are assuming, as most people do, that a female will have a female lawyer because she knows she can’t trust men in general, but especially to get her the best possible deal in court. Of course, in this day and age of freedoms, your projection could be valid. Assuming his mistress is female.

“Senator Batson D. Belfry, beltway blowhard, was originally a take-off of former Speaker of the House, Tip O’Neil. He has evolved over the years and, these days, typifies what outside-the-beltway Americans consider to be the quintessential politician: You can’t trust him as far as you can throw him, and he’s so big, you can’t throw him very far.”

Belfry lampoons an archetype found in all political parties.
