Then the polls are rigged; because 98% of the voters actually believe their candidates will do what they promise to do. It takes at least a year for regret to set in. Ignorance is bliss.

That is where “None of the Above” would be an interesting thing to put on every ballot with a candidate.

Lars Larson has recommended that for years.

Seems like the biggest problem in the last few elections is that the parties always pick whom they think can win, rather than who will do the best job.

    Or is it?

All too often it goes down like this: We’ve got a candidate with 20 years in the military, 5 in business, four in foreign service, but he’s ugly. So, since he won’t get the women’s vote, we’ll run this other guy with no experience, and he’s a jerk and a “bad boy”, so he will get that 51% that is so crucial…

From Clinton on, that’s the way it’s gone. 80% of women voted for the best-looking candidate.

In every election, not just presidential.

Kind of makes a mockery of the sacrifices that Susan B. Anthony and so many others went through, eh?

The sufferagettes are probably rolling in their graves every election.

Does that make pulling the voting booth lever an obscene gesture?

As someone once said, wanting to win an elective office disqualifies you for the position.

The best candidates aren’t even politicians. But then, they aren’t a New York and New Jersey land developer, either.
