I don’t know what’s going on in Illinois, but it could hardly be worse than Florida and the Republicans there. I read that Illinois is strongly Democratic, but Florida is almost equal in registration. I think Democrats actually have slightly more. Yet Republicans have overwhelming majorities in the Senate and House, and the Congressional delegation is heavily Republican. Can you say “gerrymandering”? And the state constitutional amendment to stop that has been been largely ignored by the Republicans, with only the courts acting to change it.
