Hillary did say, “What difference does it make?” which Hillaryphiles say was taken out of context.

But her comments on being broke were NOT taken out of context, and have been described by a fairly reliable authority as irrefutably proving Hillary ain’t the politician Bill was.

Oh, the poor poor Clintons! After “losing” his job as president he loses his salary…..BUT picks up a nice pension for life, secret service coverage, speaking fees, book deals, etc etc, all of which makes “losing 300K” a year look like pennies on the dollar.
Your shilling for the Libs knows no shame, Old….

@old1953 In what real world does “I had trouble meeting the bills after my husband lost a 300K a year job” have anything to do with getting rich years later from speeches and a best selling book?

The Clintons had a combined income of $358,000 in 2000.Paid over $50,000 in taxes. They got a refund of almost $4000.
    In 2001 they made $16,000,000.Thats over $1,333,333 a month.
From then to last year they have taken in over $111,000,000
    Yea dirt poor alright.
The easily duped remain easily duped.

Where’d all Shrillary’s Whitewater money go?
She said it wasn’t easy to find HOUSES!
People are struggling to pay for an apartment under 0’s horrible economy and she’s whining about which 5000 sq ft house should be the vacation house or the main estate!
Cry me a river you big fraud!

Bill and Hillary Clinton own two houses: A brick Georgian in Washington near the Naval Observatory that they purchased in 2001 for $2.85 million is now assessed at $5.05 million, according to D.C. property records. They also own a white Dutch farmhouse in Chappaqua, N.Y., that they purchased in 1999 for $1.7 million and was last assessed at $1.8 million

In 2011 and 2012, for example, the Clintons rented a 9,000-square-foot, lush beachfront manse that owner Elie Hirschfeld described as “an opulent house, but in a relaxed way.” In 2013, they rented a sprawling mansion that the New York Times called a “virtual Shangri-La,” where Bill Clinton celebrated his 67th birthday by inviting over Paul McCartney, among other celebrities

Remember, it was Dubya who said, after leaving the White House, that the had “to replenish the ol’ coffers.” Like a dope who was a millionaire since the day he was born ever had to worry about that.

Just a note: Clinton earned $200 K as President, it jumped to $400K for “W”.

Anyone note how much Newt the toot, or most who’ve left Congress to lobby for conservative interests, and make speeches, rake in annually? There’s bucks to be had on both sides, once they’re free of those earnings restraints supposedly in effect on those in office.

Who said anything about context? I said, flatly, that losing a 300K a year job would make most anyone feel broke, and I stand by that statement."
Then you stand next to an idiot! How much do they get paid for life? How much earning potential do they have after? Book deals anyone?
What she was talking about were the Lawyer bills from her “husbands” predatory ways. And the fact that neither one would be trusted to be lawyers. She a known lair and him losing his lawyer creds.
And oh boo hoo, those mean old R’s, give me money to defend against the blue dress fund was about 5 million..

Maybe she should talk to a President who really was broke.
With his presidency over and the hostages freed, it was time for Jimmy Carter to go home to Plains, Georgia. However, Carter had recently learned that his peanut farm and warehouse, which had been held in a blind trust while he served his nation, had suffered from drought and mismanagement while he was away.

As it turned out, ex-President Jimmy Carter was not only broke, he had a personal debt of $1 million. In an attempt to pay off the debt, Carter sold the family’s business, though he managed to salvage his home and two plots of land. He then began raising money to pay his debts and to establish a presidential library by writing books and lecturing.

The difference between them and Hillary is that she was trying to pass her off as a pauper. Quit deflecting, Troll.

In what real world does “I had trouble meeting the bills after my husband lost a 300K a year job” have anything to do with getting rich years later from speeches and a best selling book?

Let’s start with the fact the Bill Clinton may have lost a $300K a year job, but he picked up a $200K a year pension. (In fact, his total compensation package amounts to $950,000 per year. We even pick up his Cable TV Bill. Who knew? [See page page 4 Table 1]

    Congressional Research Service

The there’s the fact that the Clintons had an Adjusted Gross Income of $416K their final year in office.

    Clinton’s 1999 Tax Return

Clinton’s Legal Defense Fund raised more than $4.5 million in 1999.

Washington Post, 2/25/99: Clinton Defense Fund Grows

The trustees of President Clinton’s legal defense fund said yesterday that they have raised more than $4.5 million to help pay his legal bills and may eventually be able to cover most of the cost of the president’s legal defense in the Whitewater investigation, the Paula Jones sexual harassment lawsuit and Congress’s impeachment inquiry and trial…

“I think it’s reachable,” said Anthony F. Essayea, New York lawyer who is a trustee and the executive director of the Clinton Legal Expense Trust when asked if donations to the trust will be enough to cover all of Clinton’s legal bills.

Oh, and Hillary got an $8 million advance on her book deal before they left office.

    NYTimes 12/2000: Archives
Hillary Clinton Book Advance, $8 Million, Is Near Record

Again, all this wasbefore they left office.

Since leaving office they made $109 million from 2000 through 2008. This included a $15 million advance— the highest in history— for Mr. Clinton’s 2004 autobiography, but doesn’t include Hillary’s $13 million advance for her latest book.

That’s the real world. What color is the sky in yours?
