My female friends killed in Iraq would question whether they had “combat” roles or not. Arlington bears witness to the fact that our wars have become less “discreet”, and that also includes the massive number of “collateral damage” victims in Afghanistan and Iraq, and it has NOT been just the drones.

Back in the day when they were drafting young men, they didn’t take just the strong ones, they took everybody who passed the physical. And frankly I’ve known more than a few women who are bigger and stronger than I am. (Not better looking, however.)
