You can plant the idea, but you can’t make it grow if the soil is not furtile, and Rudy is pretty fallow ground.

…But I’m starting to miss Theron. It’s been months since we’ve seen Monkey or Mortkey. Darrin seems to have sent them to the same place the Winslow daughter disappeared to in “Family Matters” (I still think Urkel did away with her and they just never found the body).

Rudy Park is the story of a modern family connected not by blood, but by something much more powerful: caffeine. These friends, misfits and latte addicts - like many Americans in search of connection - find their sense of community at a cafe. With some characters who barely look up from their iPhones and others who only communicate via bullhorn, Rudy Park skewers the eccentricities of modern communication.

A self-taught artist, Bell graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in political science. His award-winning editorial cartoons have appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Times, Oakland Tribune and on "60 Minutes." He started out as the illustrator of Rudy Park along with writer Theron Heir, and now he does both the art and writing. He also creates the daily comic strip Candorville.
