   This is not typical Rose. She always has food for them. Hope she’s not going into a funk…I put out seed, suet and water year round. The Cardinals are here all year and so are the woodpeckers and a few more…..like the squirrels.

   I do the same; the woodpeckers really like the suet. Also, I finally put a portable submergible de-icer in the water container. My regular bird bath was too small, so I am now using the bottom half of a litter box (after cleaning it thoroughly, of course). It holds at least two gallons of water, and the heater doesn’t come on until the water gets down to 35º.

   Really? You’re in St. Louis? I thought the Cardinals only play until October and don’t come back until April….??? we are anxiously awaiting the return of the Blue Jays.
