   My husband and I used to leave peanuts (still in the shell) for our neighborhood squirrels; we’d put a double-serving out on Thanksgiving Day & Christmas.

   i put my wild bird seed out in the afternoon.
   that way the little songbirds will get there easy calories before sunset.
