Rose is Rose presents the extraordinary nature of everyday life as seen through the eyes of the Gumbo family. The strip stars child-at-heart Rose and her ASD (Attentiveness Surplus Disorder) husband Jimbo. Their gentle son Pasquale is watched over by his Guardian Angel who morphs from tiny cherub into gargantuan protector. Family kitten Peekaboo boasts that her humans are the cutest in town. Readers relish the romance in Rose and Jimbo's marriage, yet cheer the emergence of Rose's rebel alter ego, the fearless, wild and ready-to-roll Vicki the Biker

I did a “mystery mix” cassette (back in the day) for a friend once. He totally trusted me (mistake), and said that I could put whatever I thought he would like, with the only stipulation being that it was all female artists. He liked Rock…just Rock. No pop. No country. You get the idea. I gave him the cassette, and told him to listen before reading the label. He loved every song on it, and only didn’t know 2. It drove him nutz not knowing who those two rockin’ ladies were, until i told him: Olivia Newton-John (“Twist of Fate”) and Debby Boone (“Choose Life”)!!!

Vicki, I’d dance with you to “Born to be Wild”, and then we’d dance a little more!

Parents did a mystery mix cassette for a friend of theirs: nothing but “Tomorrow” from Annie in all its screechy goodness, the one song he despised in the universe. He still hates the song but eventually forgave my parents.

Some of us don’t have particularly sophisticated sound systems in our vehicles. I still listen to cds in the car.
