I can’t figure out how we don’t have universal health insurance as Obama can do anything he wants.
Maybe it’s because this toon attempts to perpetuate a myth.

Normally, in mid-terms, the party that does NOT hold the White House gains seats in the Congress.

One exception was ‘98, when the House did the ’i’ word to Clinton, after which the GOP lost seats and a Speaker.

So, while prior presidents signed many more executive orders, those orders were all Great Ideas that SHOULD have been ordered, while Obama’s executive orders have all been High Crimes and Misdemeanours.and the GOP needs to gets into action and ‘I’ the president ASAP, in time for the ‘I’ to change the elections, currently predicted as a GOP House and Senate.

Just think what the hysteria would be like if Obama had issued as many executive orders as Bush the Elder, Reagan or Clinton.

This selective outrage is just so tiresome.

It’s not the amount of executive orders, it’s their content. A president can issue vast numbers of executive orders without endangering our Constitutional system, provided that those executive orders fall within the scope of the President’s authority. By trying to change legislation by executive fiat the President has rightly exposed himself to criticism for executive overreach.

“It’s not the amount of executive orders, it’s their content.”

I’ve heard that line used before. What I haven’t yet herd was how any specific executive order made by Obama was “endangering the constitutional system” any more than executive orders made by any other President of the last 30 years.

For @Hiram Bingham, from yesterday. You missed the intent of my first comment. I was wondering why Moderate Muslims in the Us haven’t made a major protest over the extremists killing Moderates or everyone else, for that matter.

This is not a political cartoon. It is a sleazy ad hominem attack. Arial is preaching to the Tea Bagger choir.

I don’t know how this guy ever got on my list of daily comics, but thanks to him I have learned how to delete a comic.

Too dangerous. The moment an American Muslim self-identifies, all the good American Christians go after him.

There are numerous places where such arguments may be found. Here is a piece criticizing (rightly, in my view) the President’s attempts to change the operation of the Affordable Care Act by executive fiat and touching on some of the President’s other abuses of executive power:

It is not the number of executive orders, it is the content. The President is NOT empowered by the Constitution to change laws! Only Congress can do that. He changed the Affordable Care Act 40 times, all by his lonesome. If you cannot see the difference, you are part of the problem.
