Andrew Zimmern would love the smalahove… if he had a “Bizarre Foods” Travel Channel episode in Norway.

The only thing bizarre about rutabaga is its English name.

I read somewhere that the real gunfight wasn’t actually AT the OK Corral – it was a few blocks down the road. So, does that just show how good shots Wyatt and Morgan Earp were?

The gunfight at the OK Corral was actually fought in an alley across the street.
Apparently, Tombstone is the only movie to show the most realistic depiction of it.

I’m sorry, there’s nothing English about rutabaga. It’s actually a Canadian word. In UK and many other countries, we call it swede. Not too bad boiled for 20 minutes, with potatoes, and mashed.

As if “swede” wasn’t bizarre … I’ve been told “rutabaga” is derived from Swedish “rotabagge”, which is literally “root bag”, and no less bizarre.

Add a single carrot before mashing, and that’s how my mom makes it. Delicious with mutton in many ways. :)

Audrey must have really liked the way he wiped out the bad guys.

Smalahove? I just lost my appetite.

However, in my opinion, mashed rutabaga is
delicious. (and it’s very good for you.)

“Only 30 seconds” of getting shot at is still a very long time.

Think I’ll stick with Canadian bacon pizza with extra cheese. It’s what’s for breakfast!

I just finished a series of books (Master & Commander by Patrick O’Brien) wherein the hero’s favorite dish is Soused Hog’s Face, followed by Dead Baby pudding.
