    They had a Candid Camera gag with a woman in one of those cars asking people for directions to a place, on the other side of a river, then she drove into the water.

    A cannon armed camel?
    Still not as insane as the Davy Crocket … a nuclear warhead fired from a recoilless rifle.
    Or the Japanese anti-tank mine … an explosive mounted on a pole that had to be manually rammed into the target by a ‘volunteer.’

    The vehicle you’re referring to is the DUKW, an amphibious truck used by the Allies during World War 2.

    @Tom Wright

    tom_wright….you know LBJ all too well. I had a college professor who’s best friend worked in the LBJ White House. Every class would start out with the latest LBJ crooked deal or criminal act.

    When I was a girl, they were called “unicycles.”
    Yeh, I know these are different, but they sorta look the same, minus the bicycle seat.

    The bat bomb worked very well – almost wiped out the military base it was being tested at!
    (SPCA wouldn’t approve it)
