Ripley's Believe It or Not has been presenting the incredible and the unusual in illustrated form since Robert Ripley's first "Champs and Chumps" comic published on Dec. 19, 1918. Currently, B.I.O.N. is illustrated by John Graziano, who has been working as an artist and illustrator since 1983, when he received a certificate in illustration from the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts. He has designed trading card sets and a portrait series based on the 1960s cult TV show "Dark Shadows." John has also created comic strips for "Scream Queens" magazine, designed t-shirts graphics and created storyboards and concept drawings for Hollywood films. Researcher Lucas Stram has worked since 2004 as the voice behind the cartoon, reviewing potential stories, filtering through the hundreds of weekly submissions and putting together the stories for John to bring to life. New submissions are always welcome. Just click here.

The size of Croatia? Nobody uses Croatias these days. That should be 3525133.33 football fields (get serious).

How fast a human runs can really depend on what is chasing them … or whose husband!

Maybe “The Flash” wasn’t just a comic book; but that’s still not fast enough to outrun a cheetah that’s been clocked at over 70 mph over the short sprint.

I applaud Phillippe for his stamina and determination, but there’s still a myriad of things a limbless man can’t do.

I’ld think the paper would cover a much larger aera than Croatis.

Croatia? Now there’s a useful bit of information.

@Gator007
You’d be right, Gator. There’s an estimated 1 trillion pages on the internet but any given page may print anywhere from 1-100 (or more) sheets of paper. Croatia is about 600 billion square feet and a sheet of paper is a bit shy of a square foot so it’s probably more like 20 times the area of Croatia (if not even more than that.) They’re equating “1 page” as “1 sheet of paper” but if you’ve ever done much printing of webpages, you know how wrong that is.

@Mike
Although, keep in mind, they never mentioned to what depth it would cover the country.

Actually West Virginia @ 24,229.76 sq. mi. would be a better comparision for us in the U.S.

That calculation of 40mph doesn’t seem very meaningful if the fastest man on Earth can’t even do it.
Don Brock said, 4 months ago
@Mike
It would also take every tree on earth to make that much paper.

“40 mph”? Another scientific prediction that is total nonsense.

Are they saying we just don’t have the mental capacity to move our legs that fast?
I didn’t know that anyone could swim across the Bering Strait, much less a limbless man. Wow.

Ripley’s….YOU-SAYIN Bolt Ain’t That Fast!?
