Ripley's Believe It or Not has been presenting the incredible and the unusual in illustrated form since Robert Ripley's first "Champs and Chumps" comic published on Dec. 19, 1918. Currently, B.I.O.N. is illustrated by John Graziano, who has been working as an artist and illustrator since 1983, when he received a certificate in illustration from the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts. He has designed trading card sets and a portrait series based on the 1960s cult TV show "Dark Shadows." John has also created comic strips for "Scream Queens" magazine, designed t-shirts graphics and created storyboards and concept drawings for Hollywood films. Researcher Lucas Stram has worked since 2004 as the voice behind the cartoon, reviewing potential stories, filtering through the hundreds of weekly submissions and putting together the stories for John to bring to life. New submissions are always welcome. Just click here.

Umbrella guy couldn’t obtain any ricin.

For any dumb-dumbs, that was a Georgi Markov reference.

So if you want to kill a horse with a poisoned umbrella tip, sneak up on him from the very front.

Obviously the work of Oswald Cobblepot!
Sometimes I question the use of boldface in this comic. “A man”? Wow, I would’ve thought a woman or a child for sure.

No way anyone died from mercury poisoning with just a stab from an umbrella. Maybe from the stab wound but not from mercury.

Each segment of a tape worm has the sex organs needed to reproduce all by themselves.

The umbrella-wielder was a KGB assassin sent by Putin.

I don’t know Gary, could it have been some kind of needle in the end with mercury in it. Maybe I watch too much TV.

It’s no wonder they’re called blinders. The horse can’t see while wearing them. :o)

It’s time for the tapeworm to measure up and take responsibility for himself.

@briatollah
you sent me to wikipedia since I did not know of Gerogi Markov, but I don’t think that’s any reason to insult me.

Actually it wasn’t a reference to the assassination of Georgi Markov. The victimhere was “a man from Hanover Germany” who was killed by mercury poisoning in May of last year. Georgi Markov was a Bulgarian exile who was murdered in 1978.

Most civilized and intelligent posters here realize that some references may be lost on some or most of us. The really smart ones provide the reference in their posts, as I do. Perhaps briatollah will do so in the future so that we “dumb dumbs” (misspelled; nice touch!) will be able to understand his wisdom.
