Student: Isn't it great to be back in school?! I can't wait for our first homework assignment! Red: Oh brother. Student: Hey, maybe you and I will become best friends this year! Red: That's OK. I have a best friend-my dog. Student: How silly of me. I already have one too! Mr. Thumbleman, my thumb-but only after I've drawn eyes and a mouth... Red: Teacher may I please change seats?!
I like this new guy. He may be Red’s 1st encounter with someone totally unlike himself. In 5th grade I secretly liked a little nerd boy. But no one better say I did. Well kept secret.
I have aspergers syndrome it turns out and he probably an aspy too. Back then we were just thought of as a little strange.
In my mind I was a great tomboy and very busy, until my precious Collie died.It is one of the greatest sorrows when your childhood dog dies. I was 11.She was not old either. I suspect she met up with foul play, poisoned. She was drooling a lot.
I’m convinced of the afterlife because we took her to the vet, then took a day trip to my uncle’s ranch and she appeared, seemed to be running to me. It was so real that I dropped to my knees to give her a hug and right before I could touch her she vanished.Later I realized she had died at that time. We returned to the vet but couldn’t bring her home. My mom told me she had died. she was hugging me and shaking I pulled away, hoping it was a joke and she was laughing, but she was crying. Sorry about posting this, but I’ve needed to tell about this since it was so traumatic.
