The only thing I ever got in the mail when I was Red’s age is something that I sent for with a box top from some cereal box…whatever it was, it was a treasure…

Polka? It’s that the gateway to the harder stuff, like yodeling?

@IGoPogo4 Ah! a waltz down memory lane. Thanks for that.

By the by, has anybody noticed that a lot of Mexican music is Polka based?

There’s something to be said about getting an interesting thing in the snail mail. I send ecards to people now because it’s cheaper. I should break down and send real cards….nah, I’m too cheap.

Yes, you should send “real” cards! They are forever. I still look at some that my Mom and Dad sent me even though they passed away a while ago.

A friend of mine got chuckles by responding to mail Ads in her dogs name. She tired of the joke quickly when she had to dump all the junk mail. Her wood stove wasn’t big enough. :-)

When I was Reds age the big deal to send away for was either the baking soda submarine or the kids tank(can’t remember if it was pedal or battery)..I ended up with the sub..It worked well in the bathtub..
