This comic is set in the late sixties opr early seventies. You can tell by the cars driven, TV commercials, Red’s obsession with space, etc.

I was around Red’s age at that time so in a way this is almost semiautobiographical. But I didn’t have a dog most of the time and spent most of it reading or drawing.
