Had to carry our Shiba Inu like that for a few blocks one hot summer day – that wasn’t much fun!

Oh, yes…the 40-pound clean-and-jerk…good luck with that, Red!

Unfortunately, my family lost our St. Bernard, Luann, last night.
We rescued her from an under-the-radar Mennonite-run puppy mill in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania back in August 2011. She had been a breeder there, and she lived in their barn.
The vet had discovered bone cancer in her right front leg, and euthanasia was the only viable alternative to extremely-expensive chemotherapy or amputation, which wasn’t guaranteed to cure Luann’s problem. She had started to suffer and couldn’t even walk on that leg, so it was decided to let her cross the Rainbow Bridge.
    RIP Luann Bernice (@2004 – January 16, 2013).

So sorry for your loss. Pets are such a big part of our lives and give us such love and comfort. I miss my 3 cats who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge but believe I will see them again!

That’ very sad. We lost two elderly dogs last year. It’s never easy, but we have a new rescue and have started fostering for the same group.
