My wife and I both feed out Dachshund. He has recently started acting like he has not been feed when the second one of us passes the washing machine where his food is stored out of reach. He has only gotten one double feeding that way.

In the wild they would expend lots of energy to find food. So when in human care they need humans not to over feed them and not feed them human food.
