The baby’s skin must still be wrinkled.

I never saw any newborn that looked like anybody. I never could get that “oh, she looks just like aunt so-and-so” Where do they get that? All I ever saw was wrinkles.

When my first daughter was born, my first thought when I saw her was that she looks exactly like my husband. 10 years later and she still does.

In the pre-ultrasound days when my son was born and I said “what is it? boy or girl?” And my husband said " boy, thank goodness!" As I swelled up prior to shooting flames and lightning bolts out of my eyes, he added," No no, I was just thinking it was the ugliest girl I’d ever seen!" And the baby DID look exactly like his paternal granpa!

Poor little girl. Does your husband have a beard by any chance? Just kidding of course.

Very old Punch cartoon. Nurse peeping round door says to new father “Congratulations! It’s a baby!”
Not, I hope, Rosemary’s.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&I never could get that, either.. pulling down the fronta their
diaper told me all I needed to know and to wait 5 or 6 years later to compare who resembled who. THEN the fun/fights began. I have no idea what gene pool my 3rd dotter came from, and we didn’t have our milk home-delivered at the time, either ! No matter.. She loves me and vice-versa.

Guy and Gordon are finally on the same page! That is good. I am comforted.

Strange, isn’t it. Queen Victoria thought all newborns were ugly and she hated being pregnant, but she had nine kids. She must have really loved Albert, because she wasn’t that fond of her kids.

My niece looked exactly like her father, when she was only just born. But now, the resemblance isn’t that obvious anymore. And still, she’s only two months old.

Ha ha. ;P Actually, with my husband’s Filipino/German/Scottish/English background, she’s rather exotic looking (she’s 10 now). Funniest thing is, my husband has only one dimple, on the left, and he’s right-handed. She is left-handed, and has a single dimple on her right, so she’s actually a mirror image!
