In the pre-ultrasound days when my son was born and I said “what is it? boy or girl?” And my husband said " boy, thank goodness!" As I swelled up prior to shooting flames and lightning bolts out of my eyes, he added," No no, I was just thinking it was the ugliest girl I’d ever seen!" And the baby DID look exactly like his paternal granpa!

I never could get that, either.. pulling down the fronta their diaper told me all I needed to know and to wait 5 or 6 years later to compare who resembled who. THEN the fun/fights began. I have no idea what gene pool my 3rd dotter came from, and we didn’t have our milk home-delivered at the time, either ! No matter.. She loves me and vice-versa.

When my first daughter was born, my first thought when I saw her was that she looks exactly like my husband. 10 years later and she still does.
