If you believe in God, isn’t he supposed to be everywhere ? I’d think being in a nice place in the clean air away from too many people, would be the best thing for your soul….

Hipshot, from the Rick O’Shay comic strip would do the same thing, ride his horse out of town to some viewpoint, to have a chat with the ‘Boss’.

That’s what I do, go for a walk along the river, listen to the occasional ducks and geese and the breeze in the trees. It does wonders.

the purpose of going to church SHOULD be to learn more , about our creator…sadly, the churches don’t do that.

Perhaps the best way to be close to God is to be close to nature!

The main ‘thing’ is to commune with God. While the Bible teaches that we should seek others of like ideal, it is not mandatory since the main idea is a relationship with Him !

Some people feel closer to God when they are in the woods ‘cause the trees don’t know what they are really like!

Churches are mostly social. People go there to show how good a christian they are. See Luke 18:9-14

I’ve got a panel somewhere in a closet that parphrased, has the preacher saying that it was good to see Hipshot in church today. “I didn’t know you were a Christian.” Hipshot, cinching up his horse, says “I didn’t know I had to ride a horse 12 miles to SHOW it !”
