    My parents are in their 80’s they were never Lawrence Welk fans I doubt anyone under 75 were Welk fans. Those people died 20 years ago. Now if PBS was showing The Stones concert at Altamont yeah, maybe…

    @TEMPLO S.U.D.

    I’ll spare you the research. He had a successful orchestra and a popular TV show built around it, and is mostly popular with people who like music from at least a couple of decades back.

    cf: Today’s “New Adventures of Queen Victoria” and the defeat of the Zumba Apocalypse. Two cartoon references in one day? Not too shabby, Larry (as my Minnesota relatives called him.)

    63 and watched Welk whenever I was at my Grandmother’s house. We didn’t have TV… don’t have one now. Still a Welk fan.

    I’m 50, my parents and grandparents watched Lawrence Welk

    Didn’t do much for me, the oldest TV shows I recall really liking were Star Trek, Batman and Laugh IN

    I do remember that Grandma used to watch Star Trek with me, she seemed to like it

    @Steve Agosto

    Where I was the Lawrence Welk Show was on later at night after Batman. (I was around 6-8 when I watched it sometimes.)

    @DevilsNight

    It would be interesting if someone were look at the News of the future portions of Laugh-in to see what came true. I think they did predict Regan would be president.
