    Earl’s in for a surprise if that dog tunnels under the fence.

    I’ve done that before though not with a dog’s bark.

    Wouldn’t it be simpler to turn off the hearing aid? Oh, well.

    I find that it would be easier to turn off Opal than a dog barking. Obviously, Earl is a professional.

    Very similar to ‘clutter blindness.’

    Whomf? Womf? Whaff? Are those the sound effects of the dog crashing into the fence?

    My next door neighbours have a new dog. It barked quite a lot because it probably wasn’t used to it’s new environment but it’s settled down now.

    Most cities have laws to handle that sort of community nuisance. Talk to your neighbor then put animal control on speed dial.

    Pity the poor neighbors who have to listen to their own dog barking all the time.

    @Pretzelcoatl

    Turning off the hearing aid ma have no effect at all. Many older folks have frequency-related hearing loss. This is usually those frequencies above about 5,000 Hertz and the hearing aides are adjusted to amplify those areas. Most dog’s bark would be below that and could still be heard without the aids.
