I really think she would have noticed if he’d been wearing those same clothes all week.

Elderly men in my S. European city are not only averse to changing their clothes, but also to using deoderant—they think it harms the skin. At 8 AM on a hot summer morning, they tend to leave scent trails behind them as they walk past on the street…always make me think of Charlie Brown’s Pig Pen!

Just look at what Opal was wearing on Saturday……and many other days.

Earl should do what I do, buy at least a week’s worth of the same type of shirts and pants. Not only is it convenient, but it drives my wife crazy.
Her: “Don’t you want me to buy you something different?”
Me: “Why? This way I don’t have to waste time deciding what to wear each day.”
Her: “Don’t people think it’s strange?”
Me: “Who cares what people think? They can buy clothes for me if it bothers them so much.”

If they don’t smell and they’re not dirty, they are still clean, especially for just wearing around the house. I hang up things that I wear out for only a couple of hours or so—like church clothes—and get many wearings out of them before they need to be laundered.

I used to hang up my church clothes after I got home and then wear them on Monday to work. My husband wears the same clothes for 2 days and it makes me nuts because he walks 6 miles a day and I know they are sweaty. I am always complaining about them, I mean they don’t smell like BO but they do smell sour…..yuk. Give it up Opal, it won’t do any good, I know.
