    I’m close to the age of Pearl & Earl. As I remember, “dungarees” was the old folks’ word for jeans when I was Nelson’s age. Now it’s archaic.

    When I was a sailor (1960-80) us enlisted folks wore dungarees, with optional bell bottoms.
