    Good one. Reminds me of some of the things my grandson shouldn’t have said, that he picked up from me.

    Oh, am I glad I wasn’t benefitted by my paternal grandparents (Grandma died when Dad was a college student & Grandpa —who I heard had the "vocabulary"— a few months before my older brother was born when my parents were married eight years). As for the maternal grandparents, I got some benefits from them although I didn’t see them often from Washington to Arizona.

    We still use very old words like “dude” and “hybrid” but slang is slippery and all too mutable.
