    They’ll take your death ray and hold it to ransom for your lunch money.

    Bullies make take your lunch money, Max, but the teacher, principal and the school board will take your death ray. Even if it’s just a prop, they’ll still take it away.

    Maybe Phoebe could ask Marigold to put a curse on the bullies.

    Nice try max, nice try phoebe. also who are Sara and Declon? Well if Dakota’s not above Phoebe she won’t be upstaging her unicorn. Wow my fan theories die petty fast around here.

    @TEMPLO S.U.D.

    That is a point zero tolerance and all. You can get suspended from school for maki8ng an “L” shape out of your pizza slice.

    yep. Zero tolerance was a backlash by teachers who sat back and let the violence and crimes go. Or even took part in them. They didn’t want to do anything about the crime in schools, the parents insisted, laws got passed, and so the teachers chose Zero Tolerance to “get back” at the parents of kids by making the kids who are trying to get an education into criminals.

    Doesn’t your planet need you, Poochie?

    What planet do you live on? Exactly what sort of “empowerment” do you think teachers have, anyway? If they scold a child for talking they’re likely to get counseled or suspended!

    The problem lies both with lack of parental guidance and education, but also far more with school administrations who, rather that actually attempt to use common sense (which also isn’t at all common, and is also subject to bias) to adjudicate matters, elected to go with zero-tolerance as that removed any need for them to actually have to judge and resolve matters themselves.

    Don’t go blaming the teachers over this!

    I love Phoebe’s expression in panel 3. Great job Dana! It’s prefect! The rounding of eyes, the shape of iris and pupils, the subtle leaning back and away . . .

    Gorgeous and fantastic!

    Phoebe’s so casual about it…“Unicorn, again.” No biggie.

    I have a sister who’s a teacher and I can’t help but agree about the education bureaucracy. They have the same problem that modern business management does. The people who make the decisions lack practical experience and make decisions that just don’t work in the real world. That’s one reason why my Sister loves Dilbert.

    Here a plan, keep a record of known bullies in school and if they’re suspected of any incidents/bullying and if caught, shame them in front of the entire school for a week and have the other kids in the school throw produce/eggs at them on the first day of punishment than fallowed by cleaning up the school trash.
