I dunno about that Richard! There are some in the corporate world that if they give you a big smile it just might be saying: “I’m taking you down!”. Not eating you literally but figuratively.

Larry Niven said the same thing in his stories about wars with cat-like aliens. Baring teeth as a friendly gesture is unique to humans, and maybe chimps.
