Lucy, why do you even bother reading over your brother’s shoulder as he writes letters?

Can you ask? Lucy’s been a busybody and a fussbudget ever since she appeared in the strip. She thinks the world would stop running if she didn’t have the oversight of everything, well, in sight.

I’m not sure why Linus even writes when she’s around.

“Sort of human”? I’d love to hear the backstory on this one. No doubt some semi-human editor gave Mr. Schultz a bad time about something.

Never mind her, Linus. Editors love to answer letters from children. It gives them a chance to do a human interest story.

I’ll never forget the lovely newspaper editor who let me publish my own comic panel in the newspaper when I was about 13. I walked to the newspaper office and he treated me as if he took me seriously. When I actually saw my panel in the newspaper it was so thrilling!

I’m sure I thought this cute when I first read it. After having worked in publishing in various capacities I’m no longer sure.

I had a similar feeling when I saw my first crossword puzzle in print.

Sounds like Schulz was ticked off at his own editor.
