If ever there is an iconic comic strip, it is Peanuts. What began in the funny pages in 1950 has developed into an enduring classic. Whether you're persnickety like Lucy, a philosopher like Linus, a joyous Flying Ace like Snoopy, or a lovable underdog like Charlie Brown, there is something to touch your heart or make you laugh in Peanuts.

My little niece asked, “What is that on Snoopy’s tummy?”

Well, maybe if Johnny Carson was still on.

Exactly what I was thinking. As it is, I haven’t turned my TV on. There isn’t even a good late, late, late, late, late show on.

Yeah, I’ll certainly second that! There’s been NOTHING to replace him and there probably never will be either!!

I’m doing that with my laptop right now!

Today it would be a laptop on his stomach and Netflix or Hulu. Plus a 52" flat screen in the doghouse.

Ahh, the good ol’ days when we used rabbit ears. We got a whopping 2 channels. Then about ’71 we got something called cable, and we actually got 8 channels for about $4 a month.

Rabbit Ears… Wasn’t there a short run of strips where Snoopy gets pressed into service on top of a TV set, adjusting his ears to tune-in some program?

Most definitely not! Check out the rabbit ears on the TV. This particular strip was penned some time in the 60’s before cable TV and most certainly before the iTraps of today.

You know you’re getting old if you remember the days when televisions pulled signals out of the air and telephones had to be plugged into a cable outlet in the wall.

Ah, Snoopy, why aren’t you looking at the stars ( the ones in the sky, that is)? You have the ideal setting for star gazing.
