If ever there is an iconic comic strip, it is Peanuts. What began in the funny pages in 1950 has developed into an enduring classic. Whether you're persnickety like Lucy, a philosopher like Linus, a joyous Flying Ace like Snoopy, or a lovable underdog like Charlie Brown, there is something to touch your heart or make you laugh in Peanuts.

Strange… Charles Schultz has gone on February 2000, and he still produce “Peanuts” !!! More than strange, it’s weird ! what is the explanation ?

Maybe the current Peanuts strips are drawn by Bill Watterson.

If memory serves me right, then I believe that Lucy never catches the ball.

Maybe these are reissues of past strips, colorized.

Lucy, it could happen to anyone.
P.S. Schulz retired in December 1999, and the final strip was published Sunday, February 13 2000, the day after Schulz died. The Peanuts strips you are reading now are all reruns. Due to Schulz’s wishes, no one will draw the strip ever again. In conclusion, these are all reruns.

Pouncingtiger, you’re so right. And CB is too modest to cast stones. (Wished he had. Wouldn’t we all like to see Miss VanPelt get pelted and put in her place?)
These strips were originally published in 1964, I’m sure, based on the last pieces posted at comics . com.

Oh, yeah - this is classic stuff from a few decades back.
I do recall Lucy catching a fly ball at least once. Unfortunately, she had been eating a very sticky, drippy snack of peanut brittle or caramel corn or something before going to the outfield (or maybe it was eating it while in the outfield?) and her return throw to the infield had a ludicrous amount of foreign matter adhered to it.
