Today’s strip is a nightmare: That poor dog could sufficate in the mailbox and who knows when the mailman will come to open the box?

That’s three of us…but I also like seeing these old ones as I just recently started reading it.
On a side note, I don’t think SS teachers get paid (I know I didn’t when I taught Sunday School). Though, for the record, regular teachers hardly get paid, either.

Average High School teacher salary in my district is $66,000 per year. I wonder how they manage to get by…

Drop boxes aren’t air tight, so he won’t suffocate. The mailman will pick it up according to the posted schedule on the box, but today is a holiday so it won’t be until sometime tomorrow.

This is going to be an interesting arc this week. It will be interesting to see how Ruthie gets him out of the mailbox.

I thought that Sunday school teachers were unpaid volunteers.

One of my favorite jokes:
“Hello, City Employment Office.”
“Hello, I want a job.”
“Well, what can you do?”
“Nothing.”
“Great! We won’t have to train you!”

Yes, and they only work nine or ten months a year…

When teachers aren’t teaching they are studying, grading papers, setting up curriculum for next year and teaching Summer School.

Every teacher I had taught the same curriculum every year. Grammar, math, and history don’t change year to year. They grade papers once a week or so. It’s a pretty sweet gig.

With my husband working at the same time I could have put enough aside for those months I wasn’t working and for retirement. (Not a teacher but $66,000 a year would have been better than $27,000 a year.)

I’m more worried about what he’ll do to the mail.
