We’ve all been through this. In fact we go through it every day. We all know how tough, but also funny, it can be, as we move through life’s situations if we take our knocks with good humor. And we know also how very rewarding it can be when we actually occasionally get things right.

Like walking in the rain and the snow, when there’s nowhere to go….

♥♥♥ unconditional puppy love ♥♥♥
We had an older couple as neighbors once. Mama would dress up their little dog in a sweater and boots when the weather was cold and snowy, and Papa would take him for a walk. As soon as they got out of sight of their house, Papa would ‘undress’ the dog and they would continue. On the way back, Papa would pull out a paper towel (or a hanky?), wipe the dog’s feet, and redress him.

That was sweet on everyone’s part! Mama loved the dog and tried to keep him warm, the dog tolerated it out of love, and Papa didn’t want to hurt Mama’s feelings, but also thought he was doing the right thing with the dog. If we all could be as considerate…

I still can’t help but think I know a lot more about Gus than I do about Paul. Gus just has to be more forthcoming about his romantic entanglements and he will have enough material for his memoir.
