After two months in Bavaria, I didn’t like leaving. But I had a fun flight home: I sat next to and talked with an older German couple who knew little if any English. I got to play interpreter for them when they had to fill out those forms for non-U.S. citizens entering the country.
On another note, I had gotten used to the different colors and sizes of the DMs. So when I exchanged my cash for Dollars, they looked pretty bland. I was surprised how folks over there went ‘nuts’ over my U.S. currency, and often offered higher than the exchange rate to get them.
    Oops. I guess I’m rambling.

That has to be the best part of flying: chatting with the people you sit by! (And the lift-off; love that :P). On a recent trip, I had a layover in Chicago. So flying to and from Nebraska, I took four different planes, and met new people each time! Those flights weren’t NEARLY as long as yours from out of the country, though :P

I was very disappointed when the Treasury redesigned our bills and didn’t differentiate them the way most European countries do. It makes it so much easier to be sure you are getting the correct change, not to mention it’s harder to rip off blind people and tourists.
