The whole ‘World is worried about the melting glaciers and Danae is killing their babies… Aren’t they protected by the endangered species act?

Given the Polar Bear listing, it wouldn’t shock me a bit to have some genius put snow hoodoos on the TSE lists. That decision was one of the silliest things I’ve ever seen, trumping a Biological Opinion I had to write for taking of fish in a stream that had no fish because of arsenic springs driving away aquatic wildlife. Biggest stupidity was taking a national law and trying to make it somehow circumpolar as if it were a treaty, despite no precedent and no way to enforce it.
    .
The headers for my analysis on the matter were:
    .
    1. ESA Now Limited to US Controlled Areas. Polar Bear Listing changes this.
    .
    2. ESA Changed from Current Information to Future Speculation
    .
    3. Listing Ignores Several Factors
    .
    Global Warming
    .
    Conclusion

Actually, I wouldn’t mind taking a few whacks at snow mounds myself.

Glaciers are ice, compacted. Small drifts are nothing in relation.

I guess anything that motivated Danae without harming anyone is okay.

Now that they’re finally (hopefully) gone this time around, my snowblower and I agree! G’bless Danae for her active leadership in this campaign, and hiss on Kate for her non-involvement attitude!

Actually, beating up the that last bit of snow with a shovel may not help.. That may make the evil snow demons unhappy, then the next winter season could perhaps be worse than this previous winter season..

Don’t you need a license for that?
Getting caught illegally poaching snow is just cold, man. Cold.

Glaciers start off as snow, which becomes compacted due to the addition of more snow. In the case of the strip, the snow has already begun to melt, so – no glaciers. You could say that glacier population control is under way.

It appears all that snow has gone Maine stream.

I noticed Friday as I left the parking garage in downtown Hartford, CT that there was one last pile left, about 6ft high, in the shadows where the plows had been dumping the snow. Even with all the rain and warm(er) weather! Amazing how it lasts.
