Danae: What was it like in your time, Uncle Reggie? Reginald: Oh, my...it was lovely! Everyone knew their station and had the good sense to stay in it. No income tax, no pesky middle class to muddy the economic waters....it was utopia! Danae: And if you weren't a well-monied, white male...? Reginald: Oh, please don't tell me women still want the right to vote...
in polls from the 20s and earlier, men wanted women to vote, not women who wanted to vote. the suffragettes were a tiny portion.women didnt want to vote because at the time, voting required signing up for the draft, signing up for fire brigade, owning their own land, so many things.
