Nick Anderson of the Houston Chronicle is an avowed independent who covers politics and contemporary cultural issues in a way that connects with readers. His loose, idiosyncratic style carries with it an unconventional message that has broad appeal. "I approach my work with a healthy skepticism for the ideological extremists littering our political landscape," explains Anderson.

hype and blame, Obama drama, hype and blame.

The mainstream propaganda that the sequester is all hype is yet one more injustice. This is a serious and harmful event which will continue to become more so until cowardly politicians on both sides of the aisle find a backbone and turn it off…just as they are the ones who turned it on.

@Mr. King
Two Staffers told Obama it would be a good idea to request sequester be added to the Tax Increase Bill because they felt the Republicans would not go for it because it made deep cuts to defense spending.
Obama had Harry Reid pass it first, and then The House called Obama’s Bluff. Obama signed the Sequester/Tax Increase Bill (he should have vetoed it) Obama implemented the Sequester.
Yes,this is indeed Obama’s doing.
You still blame ‘W’ for all of today’s wows albeit Obama has been President since January 20, 2013 at Noon ET

Obama vowed to veto any bill that turns off the sequester, Obama is the Problem

Ahhh… But it will be nothing at all when compared to the complete shut down of the federal government at the end of this month, if the clowns in Congress (yes, on both extremes of the political spectrum) do not learn to simply cooperate and compromise with each other.
However, almost all of the latest pols show that the Republican/tea party types WILL take most of the blame. And come 2014, not even their extreme gerrymandering will then save them from relative political oblivion. And even stranger to most of the ultra conservatives here, people like myself would not necessarily consider that to be such a good thing in itself.
But it would certainly be interesting to see just what the current administration could so with a cooperative Congress instead of one that fights them all the time. And before my comments get castigated by the usual people, two years is far to little a time for any administration (even with a cooperative Congress) to even begin to destroy such a large entity as this great country is!!

Hype and blame everything that Obama does?
So pointing out the Presidents failure is now “blame” ? laughing about Obama drama is now “hype”
Your shoes and your views are now on backward now that it is on the other foot.

You know, I really have a problem with the people running this comment board not being able to get a What You See is What You Get (WYSIWYG) kind of a system for simple paragraphing here. This IS a technology improvement that has been around for almost as long as the PC itself!! I try all of this ridiculous
kinds of stuff, but it does not seem to work worth a tinkers damn for me. Perhaps I am just too old and slow, but if it can be done even on simple notebook, then why not here?? Or, is there a place on GoComics.com itself that fully illustrates just how to do it correctly? And that would be with actual examples. I can see why most of the more ultra conservative posters on here, such as Tigger and Ima almost never use more than one paragraph here. But many of these issues are not just sound bite issues!!

“not being able to get a WYSIWYG”
lol! This is common problem with many wysiwyg editors, because the space between lines should be controlled by CSS, not HTML.But you can cheat by using HTML anyway.
For paragraph break use < br >< br > (but without the spaces within the brackets). Same for < i >italics< /i > which, when you remove the spaces, comes out as italics.

@corzak
Thank you.
I never liked using a period or some such mark to allow a break between paragraphs.

Where is your ire over Democrats using extreme gerrymandering in 2001? Where is your ire at Democrats for their failure to pass budgets in 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 when they controlled The House and Senate?
You said the Republicans would lose control of The House and more seats in he Senate in 2012, we all know you were wrong, then and we have no idea what the results of he 2014 election will be until the morning of November 5, 2014.
What will you say if on November 5, 2014, you wake up to a Republican Super Majority Control of The House and Senate?

Yes we still “hype?\” and blame Georgie for his brilliant childish simplicity and clever self saving strategies that allowed him to put us into the most wasteful of human life and national credit wars this country has ever seen for a goal that seemed to be related to his father being insulted by Saddam Hussein. Under his watch our once noble democracy has been smeared and excoriated by the western world for our torture policies. Under his watch the Social Security lockbox got pirated. None of the costs of war under Bush went into the budget. That cliff we are so scared of. But I think Tigger that you are a robot. Your name is too familiar. There is a Doonesbury cartoon about you.

Dear Nick Anderson, I think your talent as a cartoonist is awesome. This cartoon is vile and if you are not ashamed of it you have no soul.
