Nick Anderson of the Houston Chronicle is an avowed independent who covers politics and contemporary cultural issues in a way that connects with readers. His loose, idiosyncratic style carries with it an unconventional message that has broad appeal. "I approach my work with a healthy skepticism for the ideological extremists littering our political landscape," explains Anderson.

Hmmm, I heard this was declared Constitutional.
Which branch does that again?

Amazing how “disturbed” the right is now that Obama is continuing, with more restrictions on their use, programs “W” relished. I don’t like the use of drones, generally, as weapons, but if used to save lives, I can see their usefulness..
Example: If a sniper on the ground fires a round, he is exposed, and in danger. If that same “person” observes a proper target, calls in a drone to take it out, and then quietly leaves the area, we have confirmation of target with real “Eyes on”, yet the intelligence gatherer, can now safely depart the area.
IN the “Bush era”, drones were often randomly, and without target confirmation, firing weapons and causing lots of “collateral damage”.
I don’t want to see drones on the domestic scene, but overseas, if a traitor is calling for attacks on Americans, I call him a “target”, who has forfeited any “Constitutional rights”.

I suggest Obama’s biggest critics volunteer for military service. Then they can battle all of America’s enemies first hand.:-)

Why do you want to tie the president’s hands? He knows who is and who is not a terrorist (of course, he can never present any proof or evidence, since it’s all classified) and if the terrorist is in America, and the cheapest way to take him out is a drone, why would you limit the President? The president should deploy whatever it takes to take the terrorist out, a drone or whatever.
In fact, if there’s a terrorist in Dallas, Obama would be fully justified in deploying a tactical nuke to keep us all safe.
And, when a Republican gets back in, the same will go for New York City.

@ Michael wme
You are advocating using tactical nuclear weapons in Dallas!! While Dallas may deserve it i don’t think using tactical nuclear weapons anywhere is very advisable.

Con…gratulations! Thank you for your service to this country. That is about the same amount of time I spent caring for veterans.

Drones? Drones are nothing. Remember that the administration, THIS administration under President Obama, was considering removing the nuke warheads and target everybody on the planet with ICBMs fitted with conventional warheads. This man has a Nobel Peace Price, for crying out loud! I can only assume that he got rolled by the Pentagon which would also explain the continued increase in military spending (the Sequester will not cut the budget of the Pentagon, it will merely slow down the increase in spending.
-
I love the President and would have voted for him if I had an American passport but this (the ICBM-thing) is just WRONG! I don’t want to live in fear from the U.S., I don’t want to have to kow-tow (sp?) to some overlords, however nice they are. The drones thing we can talk about (but not in the unclear language that is used right now). Trouble is: if you kill families from the sky with flying robots then THEY suddenly have the “moral right” to fly planes into sky-scrapers…
