Nick Anderson of the Houston Chronicle is an avowed independent who covers politics and contemporary cultural issues in a way that connects with readers. His loose, idiosyncratic style carries with it an unconventional message that has broad appeal. "I approach my work with a healthy skepticism for the ideological extremists littering our political landscape," explains Anderson.

And then the polls will change again after the next debate, and then again…and again…and again…
GOD, I’m sick and tired of this whole mess!

The only polls that matter are the ones in November.

I just hope that no matter what happens in the debates, we do not end up with Romney as POTUS

@masterskrain…..I feel like this 2012 campaign began in January 2009……I am sick, sick, sick of the phone calls and tv ads and the TOTAL OBSESSION of the cable 24/7 “news”…I have to go to foreign sources for America’s regular news…Reuters, BBC, Jerusalem Post, etc.
-
I think Rush has it correctly….the polls can be designed to get the result the pollsters want, and they use “opinion polls” to SHAPE THE NEWS. Also to SKEW THE NEWS.
disgustedtaxpayer said, 8 months ago
p.s. I think pollsters wanted a “neck and neck” horse race, and the closer it gets to actual Vote Day, they may worry about their earlier polls where they loaded up to 10% more Democrats polled than GOP/Independents….they have a “reputation” to maintain to sell more polling next election!

Kill your TV, shred the incoming junk mail from politicians.
You’ll be happier, like me.

Thank a Karl Rove today! The whole concept of “constant
campaign” is his. And if one side does it the other has
to follow. And while you are at it you may
also thank him for “Citizens United” and that avalanche of
nasty, lying political ads that has brought into the
world. The U.S. electoral system was a funny one
to begin with (“Electoral College”, voting on a workday,
having to state who you will vote for in order to register)
but it slowly turns into something dangerous to the
democracy it is supposed to enable!

If, as you say, Rush is correct, then we are in much bigger trouble then I ever thought.

The Republicans began their campaign in November, 2008. They didn’t wait until January ’09 to start their attacks, lies, and obstructions.

I, for one, don’t believe for a second that “the polls” have any significance on the outcome of the election.
.
A sample of (what?) 350 to 500 voters nationwide is supposed to represent what the remainder are thinking?
.
I think not.

If the media didn’t report a 50/50 race no one would be interested. Mitt has won already and O should start packing.

This campaign actually began in November 2008, when Mitch McConnell stated that Republicans’ priority was to make Obama a one term president.
-
And immediately they began their attacks.
-
Michael Steele, then RNC Chairman, told a Republican crowd that Afghanistan was Obama’s war, several weeks before Obama was inaugurated.

BTW, at your age, your are likely on Medicare and Social Security, making you one of the 47% that Willard despises.

The American people deserve elected officials who represent the needs of the majority…not 51%, not 60%, We need officials who will put argumentative issues aside in order to fix the things a real majority of people are want done. 70%. It is my opinion both parties cater to a minority of special interests while giving lip service to 70%. Not only at the presidential level, but at EVERY level of government, from President to judgeships to dog catcher.
Even dogs deserve better than the government this non bipartisan legislature is giving us.
Respectfully,
C.
